Louise Moses-Agnes Davis Memorial Scholarship

Purpose: To encourage and support African American/Black students residing
in California who are pursuing a graduate degree from an American Library Association
accredited library/information science program or an accredited paraprofessional
library/information science program in California.
Eligibility: Applicants must be of African American
descent, California residents, and attending or accepted by an accredited graduate
program of library/information science in the state of California.
Applicants will be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship awards will be based on an oral interview and the application evaluation.
Amount: The amount of each scholarship is based on available funds. Typically, the award range is $750.00 to $1,500, with two to three awards granted each scholarship cycle.
Date Due: Applications must be received by October 14, 2007 by 6pm.

Interviews: Interviews will be Thursday, October 18, 2007.
For applicants residing outside the Southern California area, telephone interviews may
be arranged.
Award(s): Scholarship recipients will be notified as soon as possible.
Awards will be announced during the CLA Conference on Sunday, October 28, 2007.
Obligations of Scholarship Recipients: Within 30 days of receiving the award, recipients must submit a brief paragraph, along with a picture, detailing their professional goals to
Southern California students are expected to attend at least three meetings in 2008.
